About the project
Due to immigration and (partial) academisation, the cultural and qualification diversity of care teams in Germany is increasing. The associated challenges not only affect the immediate teamwork, but also demonstrably the quality of care. Against this background, CareTrans is comparatively investigating the changing processes, structures and organisational cultures in hospitals and nursing homes, with a focus on the nursing teams.
In a mixed-methods design, qualitative (participant observation, group discussions, semi-structured interviews, participatory workshops) and quantitative (online survey including a factorial survey) methods are combined. The overall aim is to optimise (self-)learning processes of health care institutions in dealing with diversity.
