NaviCare Compass – population survey on outpatient care

The aim of this project is to identify navigation mechanisms in primary health care. The ISMR focus on the patients’ view with a special interest on social determinants of inequality, such as education, age, sex, and nationality. A specific objective is to assess the acceptance and the attitudes of patients towards delegation of medical services to specially trained medical assistants. Moreover, further healthcare topics (e.g. doctor’s visits, evaluation of doctor-patient-relationship, waiting-times) are analyzed, based on the population surveys of the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (“Kassenärztliche Bundesvereinigung”, KBV). The KVB survey is an annual and representative survey of the German adult population with a sample size of around 6000 respondents. In the NaviCare Compass project the survey is utilized and extended for questions with relevance to the network‘s research.
