Model project to increase the use of prevention services (PiNA)
In order to maintain the earning capacity of its insured persons, to counteract the chronicity of health impairments and to effectively prevent a potential reduction in earning capacity at an early stage, the German Pension Insurance offers both rehabilitation and prevention services.
However, the application for and use of preventive services by those insured by the German Pension Insurance has fallen short of expectations in recent years. According to a study of the Charité, the main reasons for this lie in the way prevention services have been organised and designed to date (Spyra, 2018).
Therefore, the core of the PiNA project is the development and testing of a prevention service that is consistently and flexibly designed to meet the needs of the insured and companies.
